VA Loans in Colorado
Colorado extends property tax relief both to veterans with the most serious service-connected disabilities and to Gold Star spouses. The federal VA loan benefit is the same in every state: eligible buyers can buy with no down payment and competitive rates.

Property tax relief for veterans
Honorably discharged veterans with a permanent service-connected disability rated at the VA's highest level, or who have been granted individual unemployability, may qualify to have part of their primary residence's value exempted from property taxes. The state reimburses the county for the lost revenue.
Gold Star spouses, meaning spouses of service members who died in the line of duty or of veterans who died from a service-related condition, can qualify too.
If a veteran who has the exemption passes away, the surviving spouse can apply to keep it.
How to apply: Applications go to the county assessor where the home is located, with an annual deadline in early summer.
