VA Loans in Nevada
Nevada offers a veterans' exemption to many who served and a separate, larger exemption for veterans with a permanent service-connected disability. The federal VA loan benefit is the same in every state: eligible buyers can buy with no down payment and competitive rates.
Nevada benefits for veterans
Property tax relief for veterans
Honorably discharged Nevada residents with a permanent service-connected disability, and their surviving spouses, may qualify for an exemption that reduces the assessed value of their property. The amount grows with the disability rating and is adjusted each year for inflation.
A separate veterans' exemption is available to residents who served on active duty during designated periods. A disabled veteran can use only one of the two.
If you don't own real property, or prefer to, the exemption can be applied to vehicle registration taxes instead.
How to apply: Contact the assessor's office in your county to apply.
